continues to train Hispanic farmworkers on pesticide dangers and
recently produced A Spoon Full of Sugar, a report on the
health effects of pesticides commonly used in sugarbeet
production. The report also discussed the prospects for organic
agriculture, noting that the state has been the nation's leading
producer of organic crops since 1995. The organization is now
working with the Organic Alliance and the Institute for
Agriculture & Trade Policy to promote organic sugarbeet
production's economic and environmental benefits for the Red
River Valley.
