The Illinois Paddling Council strives to: Improve recreational access to Illinois rivers and lakes for paddlers. Promote competition in canoe, kayak, and other paddling disciplines. Preserve Illinois' remaining scenic rivers and their natural environment. Arrest and reverse the deterioration of our streams. Speak on the behalf of paddlers in matters of conservation. Provide a source of information for midwestern canoeing and kayaking. Make known the canoeing heritage of Illinois to our citizens and neighbors. Offer education, safety and instruction to the paddling community.
